So I just graduated last December from the University of Arizona with my bachelors in Supervision and Project Management as well as got married to the love of my life Cory on December 30th, 2010. It was the busiest, craziest, most beautiful month of my life! But now the craziness has subsided and now it is back to work at Lava Java until Cory and I can go on a honeymoon (yes, we have yet to go on or plan even plan a honeymoon!) So I guess what I am saying is that now I have nothing better to do with my time but to make a blog...haha.

After the Ceremony
Since Cory and I got married, we have both gone back to work full time. We have had our fair share of exciting, sad, and crazy things happen to us since we got married.
I got whisked off to Oahu by my husband for a surprise mini honeymoon, which was amazing!

Sadly after we returned we found out that Cory's best friend from Washington had passed away and we learned that we had been kicked out of our ohana and had only 2 short weeks to find as well as move into a new place. Not a easy task to do in Hawaii. There are a million places to live but most are small, sketchy places that have a high price tag. Ahh the price we pay to live in paradise! We soon found a house, yes a whole house, to live in is close to both our jobs and close to downtown Kona. All was great again in paradise but we soon were dealt with crazy bad luck again. We were broken into the first month of living in our new house. The robbers opened our back sliding door and stole my expensive sony camera, Cory's sunglasses and his wallet. Then they proceeded to leave the back sliding door open, unfortunately letting our baby Margaux (aka our strictly indoor cat) out into our unfamiliar backyard. What a-holes! I was more pissed that our cat got out than what actually got stolen. But I was more shaken up by the fact that their was strangers were roaming around our house at 4am while we were sound asleep in our bed....
Unfortunately a couple weeks after the first burglary, we got hit again. This time they stole our scooter that was locked up outside. We were so distraught that we had more our hard earned possessions taken from us and we ended up filing yet another police report. Weeks went by and of course the police here had no leads on our scooter (they probably didn't really care or look that hard anyhow!) So Cory and I took it upon ourselves to find our scooter. We had spotted a similar scooter driving around town with two young hawaiian kids on it. One day Cory and I left our house to meet our friends Jano and Paola to eat when we saw the same exact scooter with the same kids riding on it. We proceeded to follow them down alii drive. End result: high speed chase on alii drive, ending up at Kahalu'u beach park, and getting harassed by a few big locals...but we got our scooter back!!!!
During the meanwhile we had a huge Tsunami hit Kona and destroy town as well as Cory's work.

On a lighter note, Cory has competed two triathlons this year (the Lavaman and Honu 70.3) and did amazing!!!
He finished 4th in his age group at Lavaman.
After Lavaman
He finished 6th in his age group and 87th overall out of 1,700 plus people at Honu 70.3 last week! I am so proud of him!

So after all the craziness, disaster, sadness, and interesting things we were dealt with in our first few months of marriage, Cory and I are still happy as ever as well as loving living in paradise together. We are glad that the craziness has settled down quite a bit (knock on wood!) and we are looking forward to enjoying our summer in Kona and planning our long deserved honeymoon for the fall.
I am hoping for a relaxing summer and plenty of adventures around this island with my husband! :)
